When Empathy Becomes Unhealthy

Understanding empathy and the shadows of being an empath. Together we are diving into their intuitive gifts, their spiritual gifts and talents, which become clear after we do the deep transformational inner shadow work and core wound work around the masculine and the feminine and the basic five to six core limiting beliefs. When we do the inner work, when we eat healthier, when we move well, when we are open to living consciously we might begin to notice as we become more vulnerable and more open to doing our own inner work and more aware just a more consciously aware human on the planet sometimes we begin to notice that we feel more sensitive. Oftentimes it is a remembering of how we felt as a child when we're born into this world. So open, so trusting.

If you've ever noticed, if you have young children of your own, you may notice how in tune they are. If you listen really well, you might even notice the things that they say and it might really just totally blow your mind. Oftentimes, most parents, sadly, are missing all of these curious insights because we find ourselves too busy and distracted with what's happening in the world or we keep ourselves busy and distracted because of our own need to feel important and to validate our worth through our busyness and our job and all the things that were missing on what truly matters. Oftentimes our children are our greatest teachers. Noticing the gifts, the intuitive gifts that we have as parents and how sometimes that is reignited through becoming a parent and witnessing it in our children. Either way, whether you're revisiting, reopening or curious about your own intuitive development, if you're in a place of growing spiritually, personally, a lot of people associate intuition with spirituality, which it's not.

There is a science behind intuition as well, however energetically, when we are willing to do the innerwork, release the wounds of the sacral chakra, we do become more in tune with our own intuition. As we do this, we start to notice or we hear the words that we might be empathic. Sometimes we can wear the badge or the honor of being an empath and taking on other people's pain and their energy to heal them or to fix them, when in reality, what we're really doing is allowing our ego to lead us into thinking that we're helping the other person when the other person is meant to have their own experience anyway. What we're really doing is disempowering them and not allowing them to have their own experience. It can be really hard to sit with the idea that I'm so sensitive and I'm an empath and I'm a healer and a coach. Then to sit with the idea that your ego might be tied up in that because there is this awareness when we step into the role of becoming a coach or a healer or a parent or that friend that everybody leans on.

Being an Empath is not having extremely healthy boundaries. That's what it is. It's taking on another person's energy when we can be a lot more productive and healthy and balanced if we can have compassion for somebody else's experience without having to be in it with them. Really allowing yourself to live life to what you think is the fullest, there's a shadow in that.

If you're in the world of healing or coaching, it's really important to stay in alignment with what your personal why is because if it's about helping other people, then what is that about? Does it make you feel important when you help other people?

When we fully give ourselves permission to surrender, to do things energetically, totally amazing, miraculous things happen. When you energetically say yes to them, full surrender and trust, into the experience, all of a sudden change happens quickly. When you say yes, it's like God source energy is here's what you asked for.

If you're struggling with empathy, if you're wearing the badge of empathy, first of all, ask yourself why? What is the need within you that needs to be filled to wear that badge of empathy? What does it say about you? What does it say about you if you're willing to help others? Is it fixer energy? Do you believe that you're helping them? What does it say about you if you do? What does it say about you if you don't? Number two, do you feel like you are seen and heard? Do you feel like people get you if you don't?

Subconsciously, you might be willing to see or hear other people invasively, not knowing it because of your deep desire to be seen or heard for who you are. So then subconsciously, we start picking up on things with other people. Subconsciously we start creating this co-creation, this relationship where we see and hear more than we want to about other people. This is really important because as we evolve and we agree to work with our own intuition and our intuitive development, we want to be aware of why this is happening. Then we're working with that energy. We get to choose how we experience it.

Those were the two things. One, it was easier to be in somebody else's pain than my own. It's easier to get distracted and fix everybody else. Two, you really want to be seen and heard and nobody sees, hears, gets and supports you. So now, just know what everybody else needs because nobody knows what you need. This is where it comes into the idea that we give others what we actually really want. Subconsciously, we're seeing others deeply empathically, hearing, feeling, experiencing, because that's actually what we want. We have the need to be seen, heard, felt, understood, recognized, part of the tribe.

When we get into intuitive development, what you will discover is that at first when it comes online, as you do the healing work, your sacral chakra opens up. You're in the divine flow of healing, the feminine, all most intuitive messages come in through the sacral chakra. The sacral chakra is the portal between 3D and 5D. This experience and the soul, that's where a body comes into this earth for women is the sacral chakra. It's the chakra of creativity. It's the womb.

What we can learn is as our intuition starts to come online. Intuition is really the new mindfulness, you're going to start hearing more about it because people are going to start realizing that that's actually where the truth is. As we do this, a lot of times what happens, it happens differently for everybody. Some people become very clairvoyant quickly right away,or maybe they didn't realize it, but for most of us, it starts through empathy. What we can do is when we start to witness the experience, kind of dipping the toe in with a little compassion and just seeing what it is, we can transmute that energy up from the sacral chakra up to the third eye, and it transmutes into clairvoyance and imagery. You just have to learn how to do it. It comes again from doing the inner work and healing the wounds around the sacral chakra that weren't met because the sacral chakra is also about receiving and healing.

When you clear out your own junk and then the energy becomes super clear, then you understand how to work with the energy that is coming in as it's received, as intuitive messages. You learn the healthy discernment on what to share, what not to share, what's yours, what's not yours because when it comes to receiving intuitive messages, if you haven't done your own work, then your own wounding is going to come through in your messaging. So it's super important to do your own work and excavate all of that that comes up, which is a practice, over and over and over again.

If you are someone who is struggling with the idea that you're an empath, lean into this more. You might notice that you feel exhausted after being around people, going out in public, being around certain relationships with your family. If you're one of these people, well then you're waking up to your empathic abilities. If you want to transmute that empathy into your intuition and start leaning into trust, then it takes some awareness around the part of you that is really subconsciously calling that energy in.
