Faith over Fear

I want to dive into the topic of fear. Fear is paralyzing and it has an energy, it has a frequency, and many of us have been paralyzed by it throughout our lives. Some of us are experiencing it at a deeper level right now. It invites procrastination and invites self doubt. It keeps us stuck in our lives because we're afraid to move forward.

Fear is a very, very, very low vibration. I think of it as the opposite of love. It's the absence of love. It's like the bowl that holds all other low vibrational energies. We fear things that we don't know. We fear things that we've experienced before.

What is fear really? It's an invitation to welcome trust. The opposite of fear is love. And in order to know that we are lovable, we have to trust. Know that you are loved. Believe in something bigger than yourself. Oftentimes when we're stuck in fear, we're making it all about us. It's just all about us and our little experience. And when we step into faith and trust and knowing, then we see the bigger picture, and we realize that we're not alone. We're not the only individual, the human on the planet, that's had this experience or this fear before. In fact, chances are probably at least a couple million other people have had similar experiences, similar feelings.

How do we practice faith over fear? Life is 90% of what happens to you and 10% of how you respond to it. Think about something that you're navigating right now that you're afraid of. What are you afraid of? Are you afraid of failure? Are you afraid of scarcity? Running out of love or money or time? Are you afraid of getting sick? Are you afraid of being exposed? Are you afraid of rejection? Are you afraid of being alone? Chances are there's something in your life that's running a program in the back, under the surface, and itโ€™s probably exhausting if we were to really get real about this.

Let's think about what fear does to the body. Well, it can create anxiety, which creates stress, which creates stress hormones that create acidosis in the body. It disrupts our endocrine system, it affects our well being, it affects our mental state, our emotional well being, which affects our relationships with our loved ones. It affects how we show up at work, how we show up in relationships, how we have the energy to do a job or a task or we don't. It affects how we love ourselves, because if we don't have any energy or we don't believe in ourselves, we don't nourish ourselves, we don't move and do things to take care of ourselves. So it's important to witness the anxiety or fear. Giving yourself full permission to just be okay with that without judgment or shame, because a lot of people experience anxiety.

Here's an example of anchoring into the body if you have something you're afraid of. Anchor into that feeling or emotion or sensation in your body, because the body is in the present moment and the present moment is in the truth. So get out of your mind and out of your fear and into your body. Trust your body. Listen to your body. Develop that relationship with my body. When you notice that you have anxiety or fear over something, find a place and anchor it into your body in that moment, find something that feels good, because you will ground and remember into the truth at that moment. Because at the present moment, there is no fear. Fear is in the future. Anxiety is in the future. Regret is in the past. And this is how we were created. We were created in trust. We were created in love.

When we're afraid, we make it all about us. The more that we rise up and meet those fears with trust and faith, the more solid we become in our own knowing and our own worth and our own life. But if you allow yourself to be the victim of your fear or if you avoid your fears, then, well, they're just going to keep meeting you and questioning you.

Sometimes it's those painful experiences that remind us, that challenge us of our belief, our faith and our trust. And that's okay. We don't have to stay attached to it. We don't have to stay in it. We can witness it. We can witness that part of ourselves that needs something that it didn't get, that needs to be acknowledged or loved or have their faith and truth tested.

There's something that you want in your life, and you believe in yourself, but for some reason, you keep getting a no. Because maybe under the surface, you don't believe you're worthy of receiving it, or you don't believe that you're supported, or there's not enough time or money.

If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, nothing is impossible. It's all you need. You can do anything. Nobody should ever tell you what you can and can't do ever, and especially children. All you need is just a little bit of faith, a little bit of hope. That requires aligned action, by the way. It's not like we just sit there and say, oh, I have faith. No, it's not about saying it. It's about knowing it and believing it, knowing that it's already true.

So what area of your life is paralyzing you in fear? And how can you choose to trust in something bigger than you today, to redirect your path towards what it is that you want, that part of you that's afraid? What does he or she need? How is she really feeling? What does she need? What does she not get at a younger age? What does she need? And what is the next small step you can take to overcome that fear? And then after you take that step. Release it. Surrender and trust. It is trust that because you're loved by God, you're a child of God. It's already there. Because you are the thing that you're seeking. As Rumi says, what you're seeking is seeking you because you're already that thing. Your belief and your fear and anxiety created around it is showing you a different reality. But if you choose to see differently, then the reality that you choose to see is your reality. I know it's way easier said than done. And it takes support. It takes courage. It takes confidence. It takes the willingness to navigate through it. Not avoid it, go around it. Not project it onto other people.

If you feel the need to prove others wrong, or prove anything, or control conversations, or control anything, or if you're angry all the time, or you have unhealthy relationships, ask yourself, are you being projected onto? Or are you projecting your needs onto others? It's a way that we can avoid the thing that we're afraid of. I know it's uncomfortable to hear all this, but it's also empowering. What if I chose faith over fear today? What if I chose to believe in what is possible rather than what's not? What if I chose to shift my words? There's power in words. What if I just chose to say. And instead of. But what if I chose to say yes instead of no? What if I just listen to my words and ask myself if I find myself saying something negative? Is this really true? Or am I saying this because I feel sorry for myself? Because I'm afraid? Because I'm a victim? And shift. Shift your words. Shift your body language. Listen to what people are telling you, even if you don't like what they say. What area of my life can I choose faith over fear? What does faith mean to me? Courage. Confidence. Trust. Peace.

First, define what faith means to you. What does it feel like? What is my faith? What do I believe in? Do I think I have to do everything? Do I believe that I am loved and supported? Do I believe in God? Do I believe in a source energy? Do I believe in something greater than me? Do I believe in the goodness of people? Do I believe I'm worthy? What do I believe? Where does my faith lie? What does trust mean to  me? What does it feel like? What do I trust and believe in? In my current life situation, how did it show up throughout my life? Could I trust others? Did I trust my parents? Did they trust me? Have I been hurt? How did I respond? Did I trust too easily? Did I not trust myself enough?

Fear is a way that we give our power away. Trust and faith are a way that we own it. We take self responsibility for the way that we show up. I know you don't want to hear this, but it's true. Fear is a way that we give our power away. I'm inviting you to be with it. Welcome it. Ask fear what it needs. What does this say about me? What is it if I fear being sick? What does it say about me if I'm sick? What does it say about me if I'm not? Because we identify ourselves in our roles. Whatever that fear is, ask it. What does it say about me if that's true? What does it say about me if it's not true? What do I need? What am I willing to take responsibility for? What am I willing to do next? This is how we move forward. What support do I already have in place? What can I be grateful for?

Some of those top fears that we're living with is a fear of mistrust, scarcity, hopelessness, that we're not lovable, that we're not worthy. The fear of failure. Being alone. Control. Losing control. Which one are you willing to connect with today? Create a relationship you can't shift. Something you're not aware of. It's the first step. So become aware of the fear, being with it, spending time with it. What does it say about me ifI do or don't really navigate it? It's the only way to transmute it. Transmute it into faith, transmute it into aligned action.
